One More Time

After going through a bad year & 1/2 & loosing 95% of my corals the tank has
a second life
The down fall of the tank start it with redbugs then flat worms & finally
mojamos that took
Over the tank, I also had some bad luck & lost 125 gallons out of my sump
over night.
All this happen over a month 1/2, I knew this was going to be a problem
from day one
the first thing I did was treat the tank for red bugs got rid of them but
corals where not
looking good, A week later I treated the tank for flat worm's I did it
over a 2 week period.
A week later I tried kalking the mojamos that night I was cleaning the tank
& I put a filter
Sock over the drain that went in to my frag tank so it could catch all the
junk well it did it's
Job but I was so tired that I forgot to take it out & overnight it got full
of algae & it was
Hanging over the back, next morning I woke up to an all most empty sump !
So I had to make water quick , with the help of my friend Jason we had
enough water to
get the system going again but I knew this was not good, sure enough
the corals start it to
Die one by one & the tank just never recovered.
Well that's all in the past now & I'm looking forward to a whole new year I
just hope I never
have so much bad luck, one thing I did learn from all this was to have a
quarantine tank
So that when I get corals they don't infect the system, I'm going to treat
for flat worms red bugs & use
Iodine to did the coral's when I get them, they will be in the quarantine
tank for at least a month.
I want to thank Renee for helping me redo my tank.
Thank You Renee!

All the rock i took out is still cooking but i wanted to redo the right side
of the tank so i took out
this huge piece of rock that i wanted to use in the tank & i drilled a hole
on the side, i put a plastic
Screw & added a piece to the top, i think i got the look i was after.

Today I Fixed both my sea swirls I replaced both motors & linkage,
the reason they stop working was
because when I first installed then I had to angle them down so the
water would not come up over the
front of the tank, what I dint know was that because of the angle water
was building up inside the front
box of the sea swirl & rusting out the inside motor & linkage so this
time around I also bought 2 couplers
to drop the nozzle about 2.5 inch this way i could keep the sea
swirl nice & straight I should have done
this years ago.
